What we do, every day

From running the 12 MW Super Kabeli Khola Hydropower Project to supplying the national grid and standing with our host communities, here is what Hilton Hydro Energy Limited does, day in, day out.

What We Do

Six activities behind every megawatt

Everything we do is grounded in the safe, reliable operation of the Super Kabeli Khola Hydropower Project, and in the responsibilities that come with it.

Power Generation

We generate 12 MW of clean hydroelectricity at the Super Kabeli Khola Hydropower Project, delivering an estimated 73.12 GWh of net annual energy from the Kabeli Khola.

  • 12 MW installed capacity
  • 73.12 GWh annual generation
  • 2 horizontal-axis Francis turbines

Plant Operations & Maintenance

Our team runs the powerhouse, switchyard and control room around the clock, keeping the plant in optimal condition for safe, reliable generation across both wet and dry seasons.

  • 24/7 plant operation
  • Preventive maintenance
  • Wet & dry season management

Grid Supply to NEA

We evacuate generated electricity through an adjacent switchyard via a 132 kV transmission line, integrating our power into the Integrated Nepal Power System at NEA's Amarpur (Kabeli) Substation.

  • 132 kV single-circuit line
  • NEA Amarpur Substation interconnection
  • Integrated into INPS

Environmental Stewardship

Our run-of-river design generates power without large reservoirs, keeping Kabeli Khola flowing freely. Environmental responsibility guides every phase of our operation.

  • 100% run-of-river design
  • No large reservoirs
  • Watershed protection

Community Partnership

We foster lasting relationships with the host communities of Sirijangha Rural Municipality and the wider Taplejung District, contributing to local development around our project.

  • Local community partnership
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Long-term local presence

Cascade Coordination

Our tailrace water flows directly into the downstream Kabeli-3 Cascade Hydropower Project, contributing to optimised cascade utilisation of the Kabeli river system.

  • Tailrace feeds Kabeli-3 Cascade
  • Optimised river-system use
  • Cooperative basin development
