Our Story

Clean energy from the Kabeli Khola, powering Nepal

The Super Kabeli Khola Hydropower Project (SKKHPP) is a 12 MW Run-of-River (RoR) hydropower project located in Sirijangha Rural Municipality (wards 6, 7 and 8) of Taplejung District, Koshi Province, Nepal. Situated on Kabeli Khola, a major tributary of the Tamor River, the project lies approximately 253 km northeast of Kathmandu (aerial distance).

Originally conceived as the cascade component of the Super Kabeli Khola-A Hydropower Project (13.5 MW) being developed by Snow River Ltd., the project was initially named the Super Kabeli Khola Cascade Hydropower Project (SKKCHPP). It was later developed as an independent hydropower project and is now known as the Super Kabeli Khola Hydropower Project (SKKHPP).

The project has been fully constructed, commissioned and is currently in commercial operation. Developed by Hilton Hydro Energy Limited, it commenced commercial operation on Chaitra 02, 2081 BS.
